Who we are
TBG is a network of proven, experienced leaders/mentors who share a common passion for helping Christian schools and colleges excel. By the way we work with churches and para-church ministries as well because we believe that every ministry is stronger when able to effectively link purpose and practice. Dr. Alan Pue serves as President/Senior Consultant (see bio). TBG is a non-profit corporation. Our goal is to provide exceptional service to schools and ministries regardless of their financial situation.
Dr. Alan Pue
President, The Barnabas Group
Dr. Alan Pue is President of The Barnabas Group, a ministry that specializes in providing strategic planning and resource development assistance to churches, Christian schools and colleges. He has earned an M. Ed. from Florida Atlantic University and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Pue has been involved in Christian schooling most of his life. He is a 1967 graduate of Dade Christian School, served for several years as a Christian school teacher, guidance counselor and coach, and then as headmaster at Pike Creek Christian School in Newark, Delaware where he ministered for 15 years. During his last 10 years there he also served as teaching pastor of the Pike Creek Valley Baptist Church.
In 1996, Alan accepted a call to serve as Senior Vice President and Provost of The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California. During the five years of his leadership the college experienced four consecutive years of record enrollment and was recognized for the first time by US News and World Report as a top-tier regional liberal arts college.
In his current capacity as President of The Barnabas Group, Dr. Pue travels extensively throughout North America speaking at Christian school conferences and working with ministry leaders in the areas of strategic planning, governance, and marketing. He has served on the President’s Council of the Christian Stewardship Association, as a visiting faculty member at the Meyer Institute for Steward Leadership, as adjunct professor at Columbia International University, and currently serves on the board of the Educational Foundation of ACSI. He is the author of over two dozen published articles, writes monthly book reviews for the SEAL, a publication of ACSI and his book, Strategic Finance for the Christian School will be published by Purposeful Design Publications in the fall of 2012.
He has been happily married to his wife, Linda, for 41 years; has two married children, both graduates of Christian schools, and five beautiful granddaughters. On his days away you can find him hidden away with a good book, on the golf course or taking long walks with his wife.
